We use parachute systems not older than 3 years<\/strong>. This makes both qualitative sense (parachutes are not wine, they don’t get better over time) and logistically.<\/p>\n Three years is the time when the system begins to need its first major maintenance work. 500-700 jumps is the time to change the lines of the main canopy, some components of the pack, harness, etc. But besides this, other technical problems accumulate (cuts, scratches, abrasions). The parachute system begins to require more and more attention, which leads to downtime, disruption of the training plan and other problems. We analyzed that it is better to have a smaller number, but “new” parachute equipment, and operate it as efficiently and intensively as possible, than more, but outdated, constantly requiring maintenance equipment. These are not “show-offs” (well, maybe only a little) – this is a banal economic calculation.<\/p>\n Therefore, every year after the season, we hold a sale of equipment that is older than 3 years. This makes it possible for us to always have \u201cfresh\u201d equipment to avoid downtime, and for other DZs, for whom high intensity and accurate timing of jumps are not so critical, to get equipment at significant discounts.<\/p>\n Approximately at the level of 1000 jumps, the “fatigue” of the parachute begins to be felt – the deterioration of its flight characteristics due to the deterioration of the characteristics of the fabric. The parachute can continue to be operated by imposing certain restrictions, for example, on the weight of the parachutist. The total service life of a parachute is about 2 line changes, that is, about 2000 jumps in good conditions (if the canopy does not lie in the sun, does not get wet and is properly stored).<\/p>\n In addition to condition, the number of parachute systems is of great importance (especially the variety of sizes to ensure the safety of students of any weight and age).<\/p>\n Lack of systems (or some size of systems) leads to unwanted delays in plane takeoffs (at best). At worst, packers begin to rush, which can lead to packing errors and failures when opening parachutes.<\/p>\n In 2021, jumps were served by 6 tandem systems (335-400 feet), 10 student systems (200-300 feet) and 4 sports systems (150-190 feet).<\/p>\n Tandems.<\/strong> Instructors have different weights. Students have different weight. Wind and temperature have a significant impact on landing performance. The presence of parachutes of different sizes allows us to ensure the safety and comfort of our clients weighing from 36 kg to 124 kg (our record so far). In 2022, we will use 8 tandem systems.<\/p>\n Students. <\/strong>A student parachute for safe work must have a load of 0.6 to 1. That is, a girl with a weight of 45 kg must make parachute jumps of approximately 200 sq. feet, and a 120 kg giant – with a dome of at least 300 sq.ft. The presence of student parachutes of all sizes from 200 to 300 in the required quantity for normal jump planning is a guarantee of the safety of our students. We have 14 parachute systems planned for 2022: three – 200, one – 220, three – 235, one – 240, one – 260, three – 270, two – 300.<\/p>\n Sports systems.<\/strong> In order for the athlete to be able to jump after the end of the AFF, gradually reducing the area of \u200b\u200bthe canopy, and to select the most suitable canopy for 2022, we are planning the following line: 190 9-section canopies, 170 9- and 7-section canopies, 150 9 -ti and 7-section domes, and 135 9-section domes.<\/p>\n In 2022, we plan to use only our own parachute systems<\/strong>. The experience of Ukrainian parachute clubs shows that a drop zone using someone else’s (leased) parachute systems is endangered due to the inability to control the quality, storage rules, correct installation and packing of someone else’s parachute systems.
